Mesozoic Jurassic Period

The Jurassic period, part of the Mesozoic Era, spanned from about 201 million to 145 million years ago. This period is known for the dominance of dinosaurs on Earth. The climate was warm and humid, with abundant ferns and gymnosperms. In the seas, ammonites and large marine reptiles thrived. During the latter part of the Jurassic, large continents began to split, leading to the formation of what would become the Atlantic Ocean. The first birds, like Archaeopteryx, also appeared during this time.
